Sheridans Bucks Trend with 3 New Corporate Hires
Leading London-based leisure, media and entertainment firm, SHERIDANS, has bolstered its Corporate team with three new hires from Simmons & Simmons, Olswang and Ashurst.
Cleo Papaphotis joins from Simmons & Simmons’ corporate division where she spent six months on secondment as in-house counsel with the corporate legal team at Barclays Bank Plc. She represents clients across a variety of business sectors including media, technology, financial institutions, life sciences and telecommunications. Mark Baynes was previously at Olswang and the BBC and is dual qualified, having been admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2003. Mark specialises in corporate finance work, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and general corporate advisory work.
Amit Patel trained at Ashurst and has now joined the Company Commercial Department. Amit also spent six months at the Southbank Centre prior to joining the firm. These new recruits significantly enhance the capacity and experience of the firm’s dedicated Corporate Team and is reflected by their involvement in several recent high profile and complex Corporate deals led by solicitor Nina Lomas, partner Charlotte Fox and partner and Head of Company Commercial, Rex Nwakodo.
In relation to the recruitment drive, Rex Nwakodo said:
“The recruitment of three new members of the Corporate Team is a tremendous boost for the Department and Sheridans in the current economic climate. They have certainly greatly enhanced our ability to continue to provide clients with a high standard of service. We have been very fortunate as the market has also provided us with significant opportunities reflected in the size, quality and variety of corporate deals, across various sectors. It has been very busy and the Team fully engaged over the last twelve months. Our growth and continued recruitment is a testament to the firm’s strategy.”
