Marisa Berardi

Marisa Berardi is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution Group. 

She specialises in media, music and entertainment litigation, including intellectual property infringement claims, audit claims and management and band disputes. She also advises clients in relation to general commercial matters.  

Recent cases include:

• Acting for Pink Floyd in a successful claim against EMI in relation to online exploitation of tracks.  The Court of Appeal decision is a leading authority on the approach to construction of commercial contracts
• Acting for Peermusic in a long running dispute (which arose out of the success of the Buena Vista Social Club album) over rights in the compositions of various Cuban composers. This case considers the laws of succession in the Copyright Act 1911
• Acting for Nigel Albon in proceedings in the Chancery Division where there was a challenge to jurisdiction and an anti-suit injunction was obtained to restrain an arbitration in Malaysia. The injunction was upheld by the Court of Appeal
