Nick King

Nick is a dispute resolution and litigation lawyer specialising in the media, entertainment and sports industries. He has particular experience in intellectual property matters.

Nick regularly deals with disputes relating to trade marks, domain names, sponsorship contracts, passing-off, false endorsement and infringement of copyright as well as general commercial matters. He has advised in relation to the protection of brands and brand image, ambush marketing and TV format rights.

Nick’s practice also includes defamation and privacy work and he has recently secured apologies and damages from major national newspapers for one of the firm’s high-profile clients in respect of untrue allegations they had published.

Nick is currently acting for Zee Sports in relation to its disputes with the ECB and the ICC over the Indian Cricket League and recently represented South African cricketer, Johannes van der Wath on his successful appeal against the ECB’s decision not to register him to play for Northants CCC during the 2008 season.
