Alex Harvey is a Partner in the Sport Group.
Alex is a specialist sports and entertainment lawyer whose practice spans commercial, regulatory and contentious matters across those sectors, with a particular focus on football, motorsport, and online talent.
Alex advises a broad range of clients, from global sports data businesses, to clubs, teams, leagues, agents, athletes, brands, technology companies, governing bodies, and rights holders, with particular expertise in the football regulatory space, talent and talent representation, and sports data and technology.
Commercial work forms the core of Alex’s practice. He advises on a wide range of transactions, including sponsorship, licensing, image rights, broadcasting, data commercialisation, technology contracts, participation agreements, and talent deals.
On the contentious and regulatory side, Alex has significant experience advising on high-profile football transfers, the FA’s football agent regulations, FA Rule K arbitrations, and regulatory matters under the newly established Independent Football Regulator (IFR) framework. He also has experience advising clients in the High Court, Court of Appeal, and Competition Appeal Tribunal.
Alex is known for the breadth and versatility of his practice, enabling him to provide joined-up advice across transactional, regulatory and dispute resolution matters for his sport and entertainment clients.
